Make Your Own TV Show!

You--yes you! can use PEGASYS facilities to make your own TV program and to cablecast it to over 26,000 homes (67,000 residents) in Tompkins County, New York.

Hours Of Operation

The PEGASYS community television studio is open on weekdays, excluding holidays, as follows.

Eligibility

All residents of Time Warner Cable's service areas in Tompkins County who are at least 14 years old, are eligible. This includes students at Cornell University and Ithaca College.

Fees

Classes and production use is FREE for all residents of the City of ithaca, Town of Ithaca and Cayuga Heights. Residents of other parts of Time Warner's Tompkins County service area may also use PEGASYS by paying the following fees: New user: $30 for a 6 month membership. Continuing user: $20 for a 6 month membership. New organization user (includes up to 4 members): $100. Continuing organizational member: $50.

Training

The first thing you should do is attend an orientation. You will learn more about PEGASYS services, and you will take a tour of the PEGASYS community television facility. Orientations are held eleven times a year, one per month except for December. See the Events page for dates and times of upcoming orientations.

Before you use the PEGASYS studio, you usually attend the studio training course.

Before you use the PEGASYS portable equipment and videotape editing facilities, you usually complete the portable training course.

Courses are held every month except December, alterating between basic field and studio production. Additional training is available. All PEGASYS training courses are offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
