PEGASYS Awards Ceremony
February 29, 2008
Cablecast Live on Time Warner Cable Channel 13
The PEGASYS Awards for Cablecasting Excellence was 23 this year! This video competition for public, educational and governmental access programs is celebrating 23 years of helping to promote the best in community access programming in Tompkins County. Each year, an independent panel of judges evaluates entrants from a wide range of community producers, and winning programs are awarded the coveted PEGASYS Award statuette. In addition, the 4 highest-scoring local programs – the 2 best public and the 2 best educational access programs - will be sent on by Time Warner to a national access television competition, the Hometown Awards, to be held in July in Washington, DC. For information about the Hometown Awards, see: http://2008.acmhometown.org/
PEGASYS Awards were given out in 10 program categories, plus Best Public Access and Best Educational Access. A list of the winners is below. Congratulations to all the 2008 PEGASYS Awards winners!
We would like to extend a special thanks for our judges: Chrissy Guest, video instructor; TC3, Mustafa Ali, video instructor, LACS; and Karl Madeo, video instructor emeritus, LACS.
